Front Nine (OUT)

This is the Signature Hole of the course and a challenging start. Off green and you could be in trouble. Fronted by large bunkers with trees on left & right and to the rear. A very short tee shot will see you in a ditch! Split level green is a test for even the most adept putters.

A very long par 4. Tree lined (as are all the holes), put your drive to the right & a ditch and trees await.

Slight right dog-leg approach to the green. Achieving regulation is a challenge.

Drive through a narrow tree gap. Again take care as a sliced drive will find heavy rough, trees & a ditch! Green is found by playing over another ditch and up hill with bunkers to the left.

Wide open tee box area but rough for 150yds. A reasonable drive will see your ball clear the trees and ditch (yes another one). Beware, the fairway is uphill & a wicked left to right slope and you could see your ball travel to the right and be hard to find. Approach the green towards the left, this will take advantage of the natural slope of the green and surrounds.

Par 3 with green higher than tee box. Aim to the right to the open area and a well placed ball will travel left onto the green. Go left from the tee and it’s good-bye ball.

The best view on the course. Tee box is high and the view is great. Drive down hill and your ball will travel and travel. Push to the right and you could be out-of-bounds. A wide fairway beckons and a birdie awaits.

SI 1 for the men. A wayward shot to the left anywhere on this hole and you are in trouble. Second shot to the green is a blind challenge and worth taking on. But miss the green and bunkers, heavy rough and trees will leave you with a very difficult shot and (possibly OOB) to make the green.

Your third par 3 at which many many players drift to the right. The left is governed by dense woodland any ball in there is gone forever, it's Out Of Bounds.

Finish the first half with a challenging par 4. Tree lined on both sides a long drive could see you in trouble in another of those ditches!. A well placed drive offers you an inviting second to the green. Definitely a shot to go for. Use the banking on the left of the green to assist the travel line.

Back Nine (IN)

The long one. Only par 5 (for the men) & SI 1 for the ladies. Tee box is in front of the club house so a chance to impress! The inviting wide fairway encourages the big hitter and this is carried on throughout the hole. Approach to the green has sand traps, trees, ditch and catches many.

Really should go for the hole. Out of bounds on the left. Big bunker in front often catches the less courageous. Just play sensibly and you’ll be fine.

Problems abound on this hole hence it’s low SI. Ditch 130yds from the tee box area. Ditch along the right. Out of bounds to the left. Another ditch (!!!!!!) 20 yards before the green. Bunkers to the left and trees all around. Other than that - easy!!!!!

Not a lot should go wrong here. Trees on both sides to guide you along the correct line, but drift left and you could end up in the practice area. Flat all the way. Green in 2 is very achievable, thus a birdie hole.

Another ditch perfectly placed on this hole. Running at an angle the choice is drive to right to ensure clearing the ditch but big trees lurk. Drive to the left where the ditch is further away. For many the ditch seems to gobble up your ball if you take this route. Sometimes pin placement makes putting a real challenge on the tiered green.

Wow - very wide fairway. White tee need to drive over very heavy bracken with trees close on your right. Red & yellow tees have an open vista. Keep things nice and straight to complete a straight forward hole.

Mens & Ladies tees are separate. Ladies secluded tee box offers a reasonable drive up hill, over brook to the safety of the fairway. Men are placed 60 yards further back to the right. Drive right and the ball is lost. Go dead straight and trees will make location difficult. Shooting to the green beware of bunkers to both sides, overshoot and heavy grass will test the best.

Longest par 3 and it’s longer than it looks. So many people fail to reach the green. The greens camber goes right to left. Pin placement, often to the left accentuates the slope and makes an approach shot or putt from the right troublesome.

Homeward bound. 50p if you go into a bunker. The brook runs across the fairway and requires consideration. Big hitter may try to clear – bet you don’t!!!!! A large green awaits that has a slope that takes the ball away off the back of the green
